Will China be a Leader in AI in a Few Years?

A few months ago, we wrote here about the book AI Superpowers by IT guru Kai-Fu Lee. Now, an article is being published in Česká pozice that simply summarises the book. You can read here about the importance of data for AI, China's plan to dominate the world, the game worth 16 trillion dollars, and so on.

It is often written that a base for artificial intelligence will be established in the Czech Republic for Europe. However, few people know that the city of Beijing alone has allocated two billion dollars for the development of an industrial park focused on artificial intelligence.

Personally, I feel that in the Czech Republic, experts in artificial intelligence are not sought after much (I have to painstakingly search for most contracts myself, and I find it much easier to find employment as, say, an analyst or scrum master). Compare this with China. According to research by Maimai, the largest Chinese competitor to the LinkedIn social network, last year there was a shortage of about five million artificial intelligence specialists in China.

Does anyone have a clue why AI is not of much interest in the Czech Republic while there is such demand for it in China?
