Jan Tyl
Founder & CEO of Alpha Industries
Jan Tyl (Mgr. HTF UK – teaching, religion, ethics, and philosophy; MBA) is a Czech AI scientist, entrepreneur, and populariser. He founded Alpha Industries in 2018 and has since focused on the intersection of AI, education, and the humanities.
He appears on Czech TV, Czech Radio, and international expert platforms. He hosts the Hyperprostor programme on artificial intelligence, received the AI Awards 2019 for Digital Philosopher, and a Prix Europa nomination for Digital Writer.
Outside of AI, he served as consultant and the model for the main character Jan Tyler in the sci-fi novel Syndikát by Czech writer Leoš Kyša (who publishes under the pseudonym František Kotleta) — the name resemblance is no coincidence. The novel has been adapted into two audiobooks and a radio drama. The AI assistant Karel from the novel inspired Alfréd — the digital butler you will meet on this website.
