Czech AI Celebrity Tomáš Mikolov on DV TV!

We are still a long way from AI, and perhaps we are doing it all wrong, says Tomáš. For him, artificial intelligence is a computer that can communicate like a human. He is rather waiting for a breakthrough discovery, an idea, something that will be sufficiently different from what is currently being explored, and he does not believe in the ant-like work of gradual continuous improvement. Much of what was once believed has turned out to be a mistake.

The stronger the technology, the greater the risk that something dangerous will happen, but I am an optimist; artificial intelligence will be safer than weapons, he adds, along with many other insights from Tomáš Mikolov, an expert in artificial intelligence working at Facebook and a recent laureate of the Neuron Prize for significant scientific discovery – word2vec.
