New 'Colab Pro' Layer from Google

Google Colab is an exceptionally useful tool for AI enthusiasts who enjoy working online. This week, Google quietly introduced a paid layer, 'Colab Pro', which comes with three advantages:

• Faster GPUs: “Priority access to faster GPUs and TPUs.” Instead of the free K80s, subscribers will have access to Nvidia Tesla T4 and P100 units, as well as priority for TPUs.
• Longer Runtime: “Longer notebook runtimes mean you will be disconnected less often.” Instead of the claimed 12 hours, Colab Pro allows notebooks to “stay connected for up to 24 hours and will disconnect you less frequently.”
• More Memory: “More RAM.” Notebooks will have priority “VMs with larger memory,” “usually having double the memory of a standard Colab VM and twice the CPU.”
