At Least 45 Startups Are Working on Chip Development for AI

There is now no doubt that artificial intelligence is the “next big thing”, promising the creation of a large and valuable market. It is no wonder then that many companies are striving to succeed in this area, aiming to compete with well-known giants.

Or perhaps they wish to be ultimately acquired by them; it all depends on the path they choose and what they can offer. A new front has opened up, where established firms such as Intel, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm will compete, at least in terms of hardware manufacturers. According to the New York Times, there are at least 45 startups also developing hardware for AI, and at least five of them have already secured more than $100 million from their investors.
