What happens when you take the most iconic work of Czech Romanticism and have it rewritten by artificial intelligence? Today, I once again put AI to a rigorous test.
The task was clear: Write a poem in the style of Karel Hynek Mácha, complete with everything – iambic verse, harrowing contrasts, oxymorons, and an ever-present sense of despair. Just instead of the blooming May, set the scene in the cruel, freezing February.
The result? Judge for yourselves in the photo. 🤯
Not only did the AI manage to capture Mácha’s oppressive rhythm and language (“...icy shell – stable of winter...”); it also created this amazing period engraving. As a finale, I had it all placed in an authentic old book. The entire process – from the first stanza through literary analysis to the final visual – took just a few minutes of conversation.
🚀 And now for the main point: This was not an ordinary test. This is AI Studio – a specialised model codenamed Karel 🇨🇿, which is currently being fine-tuned and will be released soon.
It’s incredible how quickly the boundaries of what machines can achieve in creativity and understanding context are shifting.
What do you think of Mácha’s “February” as interpreted by AI?
