Robots Attack, but Only the Budget for Now. The State Fears Losing Tax Revenue

Robots are attacking the budget! The state fears that due to robots, it will lose tax revenue and 400,000 jobs.

Czech politicians are grappling with the issue of how to tax the work of autonomous robots. Seminars will commence in April, aiming to devise a method for plugging the anticipated gaps in state revenue post-robotisation. According to one study, the Czech industry alone could lose up to 400,000 jobs within the next 20 years due to robotisation.

“Is it a machine that participates in the production process? Or is it also artificial intelligence that engages in machine communication, collaborates with humans, and regulates the accuracy of successive production phases?” stated Eva Veličková from the Confederation of Industry and Transport.

“In such considerations, a mechanical saw could be perceived as a robot, as it cuts identical products based on set parameters,” added Miroslav Diro, spokesperson for the Chamber of Commerce.

What is your stance on taxing robots? Do you believe that the work of robots should be taxed? Do you agree that robots will eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs?
