The First AI Academy for Secondary Schools Has Launched!

You may have noticed that there haven't been as many articles appearing here lately.

Our focus has shifted to creating the first AI Academy and piloting it with secondary school students. They formed three small teams and each week studied the basics of machine learning, immediately testing their newly acquired skills in short and hopefully enjoyable tasks. I must commend all the teams, as they handled the exercises remarkably well and demonstrated that practical applications of machine learning can be approached without a degree in mathematics.

Most of the students enjoyed it so much that they decided to undertake an internship with us at Alpha Industries. The internship consisted of workshops where they created projects using Lean Canvas and Sprint methodologies, learned about business thinking, how to effectively present themselves to HR, and we also took them to real meetings with various companies. The students developed two intriguing startups, which attracted interest from real customers during their internship!

I must say that it was quite a challenge for all of us, but projects like this can elevate the Czech Republic a notch higher. Once again, thank you to the students, to Alpha, and to our external collaborators!
