Most books on machine learning are thick and relatively challenging to read. Now, a book by Andriy Burkov has been released, which is only 100 pages long and is ideal for beginners, quickly becoming a bestseller on Amazon. What is remarkable for us Czechs is that the book is distributed in a way that allows you to read it first and pay for it later! Alongside its great economy, I also appreciate details such as the recommended literature presented in the form of QR codes.
If I were to look for some flaws in the book, I would say that there is perhaps too much mathematics for most beginners (the author does not hide his Ph.D.). I would also welcome more of the author's experiences with NLP and additional code examples.
And finally, a piece of advice from Andriy for beginners in Data Science:
• Learn the basics of computer science
• Become a good programmer
• Find an interesting problem and solve it
