Google Colab Pro+: for 1000 CZK per month!

Google has just released a new subscription plan for Colab: Pro+. Let's take a look at what it offers.

Google Colab makes life exceptionally easier for us researchers. Having the right libraries up to date is even simpler than with Anaconda. You can connect to very decent graphics cards even from your phone, share your work with others, and so on.

It has been two years since Google started offering Colab Pro – the first subscription option. For about 220 CZK per month, I gained professional user access not only to K80 but also to faster GPUs like T4 and P100, and I wonder if V100 is also included (as it has 32 GB). It also doesn’t disconnect me from the servers as often as it used to, and importantly (something my own people took a long time to understand), the RAM is no longer limited to 16 GB but is now 32 GB. This allowed me to compute larger models that those using the free version could not access.

Now, with Colab Pro+, I have access to up to 52 GB of RAM! 52 GB – that’s brilliant for processing larger amounts of data! You also don’t need to keep your browser open all the time. Pro+ is designed to work more in the background and has a much higher chance of keeping you connected for 24 hours! It has proven useful to store data on Google Drive, providing even greater freedom in that you don’t need to keep your computer on all the time.
