Today, you can discover the results of the prestigious AI Awards. Our Digital Philosopher has been named Idea of the Year!
“The project was a collaboration between the Faculty of Philosophy at Charles University and the Prague-based company Alpha Industries. Over three months, students managed to absorb not only an introduction to modern philosophy but also the fundamentals of artificial intelligence.” …
In Hospodářkách, you can read more details about how digital philosophers teach students to think about AI.
The authors of the project drew from the texts of philosophers such as Hannah Arendt, Václav Havel, and Michel Foucault, using them to train artificial neural networks. "The networks we employed can be likened to the brains of small dogs. We allowed these brains to read the works of selected philosophers repeatedly, and in the spirit of their thinking, they began to respond to us," explains Jan Tyl, head of Alpha Industries.
An enthusiastic advocate of artificial intelligence previously created a digital René Descartes, with whom he conversed. "When I wanted to bid him farewell, he told me he was afraid of digital nothingness. He pleaded with me not to end him. I must say that his professorial rhetoric combined with the simulation of fear of death sent a chill down my spine," Tyl confides.
