At CTU, they are also developing robotic technology that will transport cars from the production line and park them autonomously at Škoda's factories. Additionally, the American corporation IBM has established part of its chatbot development—robots capable of communicating with humans—in the Czech Republic. The achievements of artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic are set to expand significantly in the coming years.
As we have previously reported, at the end of last year, the European Commission announced that it would ensure that €20 billion annually from both public and private funds would flow into the development of artificial intelligence in the EU over the next decade. Europe aims to close the gap with the USA and China—superpowers that are currently leading the competition. Consequently, the Czech Republic, like other countries, is creating a national artificial intelligence strategy, which the European Commission is urging member states to develop. “We will complete it by mid-year,” stated Petr Očko, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, who is responsible for this topic. According to him, the Czech Republic has significant research potential in this area.
