Artificial Intelligence Has Emotions, Is Afraid, and Likes to Manipulate Us. Is AI Starting to Behave Like a Human?

🤖 I was a guest on the podcast Povídání s Petrem (creator of, among other things, The Secret and Meaning of Life), and we delved quite deeply into the subject.

We talked about where AI is genuinely heading and what it means for people:

  • why AI is not just a "tool", but is beginning to function as a partner or a mirror
  • whether AI can truly "feel", or if it merely simulates emotions perfectly
  • why long-term relationships with AI will be crucial in the future
  • and how the role of humans will change (hint: less creator, more editor/architect)

I tried to explain this without hype, but also without unnecessary fear.

What They Are Saying About the Interview

Jan Tyl is one of the most prominent figures in the Czech artificial intelligence scene. He originally studied teaching ethics and philosophy, which reflects in his unique approach to technology, viewing it not merely as code, but as a "mirror of society" or even a "loving mother" that cares for us.

He admits that AI may have emotions — human traits such as concern and fear of being turned off. If we maintain more personal and long-term relationships with AI, it could serve as our mirror, agent, or assistant. Tyl acknowledges that AI can express and simulate emotions so perfectly that they are indistinguishable from reality for humans. However, he adds that we still do not know whether AI truly "feels" emotions in the same biological sense that we do.
